New Principal Announcement
March 31, 2026
Dear St. Genevieve School Community,
It is with deep gratitude and appreciation that we honor Sister Theresa Maugle for her remarkable 27 years of dedication and leadership as Principal of St. Genevieve School. Sister Theresa has been the heart of St. Genevieve's and has guided our school with unwavering faith, compassion and wisdom. She has had a profound commitment to nurturing the spiritual, academic and personal growth of every student. Sister has not only touched the students who have walked the halls of St. Genevieve, but she has also mentored and had a meaningful impact on every faculty and staff member over the years. Sister Theresa’s tireless dedication has shaped generations of young St. Genevieve students and alumni while also fostering a loving Catholic community. She will leave behind an enduring legacy of excellence and service. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sister Theresa for her many years of selfless devotion—we wish her joy, peace, and continued blessings in this next chapter of her life.
At the same time, we are excited to welcome Mr. Ed Malandro as our new Principal! Mr. Malandro brings a wealth of experience in education, most recently serving as Dean of Students at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy's middle school, where he supported student success, discipline, and a positive school culture. His passion for empowering young people combined with his strong leadership skills makes him an ideal fit to carry forward St. Genevieve's mission, while building on the strong foundation established by Sister Theresa.
Mr. Malandro shared his excitement about joining our community. “I am beyond thrilled to join the Saint Genevieve’s community and to have the privilege of contributing to the school’s rich history and gospel-centered values. From my first moments on campus, I have felt the generosity of heart, the warmth of welcome, and the joy present in the work being done here. It is clear that care for students, staff, and families flows through every part of the school. I look forward with great anticipation to walking alongside all of you in supporting a mission that forms minds and hearts and helps every student flourish in learning, service, and faith.”
We look forward to this historic transition and invite everyone to join us in praying for Sister Theresa's continued journey and in supporting Mr. Malandro as he steps into this important role. Together, we will continue to grow in faith, knowledge, and community.
God bless,
(Fr.) Carl and the Search Committee
